The Kantonsschule Zürich Nord operates a long and a short gymnasium with all profiles offered in the Canton of Zurich and the bilingual maturity certificates in German/English and German/French, as well as a specialized secondary school. It has around 2,200 students, 300 teachers, 50 staff members in central services, and eight school leaders who contribute to the successful functioning of school life. Since this school year, the KZN has been located on the Irchel campus.
A vice principal position is to be filled at the beginning of the autumn semester 2026/27.
Your Responsibilities
As a vice principal, you are part of the school management and are jointly responsible with the principal, other vice principals, and the head of central services for the pedagogical, administrative, and financial leadership of the school and its further development. You supervise students and classes of the specialized secondary school or the gymnasium and take care of personnel matters of individual subject departments. You possess a high level of commitment and organizational talent and are interested in school development and school quality. You are resilient and have skill in dealing with young people, teachers, staff in administration and operations, as well as with school authorities and offices. Additionally, you are a team-oriented, innovative, and communicative personality with a confident and convincing demeanor.
Your Profile
Formal requirements for an application include a completed university degree and a teaching diploma for secondary schools or an equivalent professional and pedagogical education, as well as several years of teaching experience at the secondary school level. As a vice principal, you will teach ten lessons per week.
