Store Management & Volunteer Coordination 80% for the Caritas Market Wil (SG)
The Caritas Market in Wil is a lively meeting place: In addition to the store operation, there is also a well-frequented meeting café. Around 80 volunteers are actively involved here – they form the backbone of our offer.
As the current position holder is retiring, we are looking for a committed personality who will take over the operational management of the market and at the same time competently support and further develop our volunteers.
Your tasks
Management of Caritas Market
- Overall responsibility for the operational management of the market
- Ensuring smooth processes (inventory management, cash register, orders)
- Scheduling and organizing daily business
- Ensuring quality, hygiene, and safety standards
- Further development of the offer in the store and meeting café
- Recruitment, introduction, and support of around 80 volunteers
- Planning and coordination of assignments
- Promotion of an appreciative and motivating team culture
- Contact person for concerns, conflicts, and individual situations
- Organization of exchange and recognition formats
- Further development of volunteer work in the market
- Maintaining and expanding contacts with the city of Wil, churches, and local organizations
- Collaboration with internal Caritas departments
- Co-creating an open, welcoming place for customers
Our requirements
- Training and several years of experience in retail, ideally in the food sector
- Experience in team leadership – preferably also in working with volunteers
- High social competence and enjoyment in working with diverse people
- Organizational strength as well as independent and structured working style
- Resilience and flexibility in a dynamic operational environment
- Good communication skills and networked thinking
- Existing catering license or willingness to obtain one
- Identification with the values and goals of Caritas

Workload: 80%
