Head of Construction (100%)
As Head of Construction, you assume overall responsibility for the construction department and contribute significantly to the sustainable development of our municipality. In this versatile leadership role, you ensure the professional implementation of municipal construction, infrastructure, and development tasks and advise political decision-makers on technical matters.
The municipality of Ingenbohl is located on Lake Lucerne with a unique view of the
lake as well as the surrounding mountains and offers a high quality of life for its 9,500 residents. Due to the retirement of the previous post holder, we are seeking an engaged, responsible, and service-oriented individual as Head of Construction (100%) from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.
Your impact with us
Leadership and further development of the construction department as a member of the executive management
Personnel and technical management of the areas of construction, spatial planning, infrastructure, real estate, municipal services, and indoor swimming pool
- Ensuring legally compliant, service-oriented, and efficient processing of building permit and building police procedures
- Planning, controlling, and implementing building construction, civil engineering, and development projects
- Responsibility for municipal spatial and infrastructure planning
- Strategic management and further development of municipal properties and facilities
- Advising the municipal council and close cooperation with political authorities, commissions, and external specialist offices
- Responsibility for the budget, investment planning, and controlling of the department
- Preparation of decision-making bases and technical recommendations for the municipal council
- Promotion of cross-departmental collaboration within the municipal administration
Your profile
- Completed university or university of applied sciences degree in spatial planning, civil engineering, architecture, environmental sciences, real estate management, or a comparable field
- Several years of professional and leadership experience in municipal construction, planning, or infrastructure
- Sound knowledge of construction, planning, and administrative law as well as public procurement
- Proven experience in managing demanding projects
- Understanding of political processes and experience in working with authorities, commissions, and other stakeholders
- Strong leadership, communication, and social skills
- Strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and assertiveness
- Independent, solution- and service-oriented working style
- Resilience and the ability to balance different interests
- Fluent oral and written expression in German
