Assistant Psychologist in the General Psychiatry Service (Outpatient Unit)

The General Psychiatry Service is seeking an assistant psychologist at a 50% workload, on a permanent contract, for its Outpatient Reception and Brief Interventions Unit. The starting date is scheduled for 1 October 2026 or to be agreed.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.

The General Psychiatry Service provides psychiatric care for adults aged 18 to 65 in the Lausanne metropolitan area. It offers specialised inpatient and outpatient care, in close collaboration with partners in the care network.

The Outpatient Reception and Brief Interventions Unit welcomes individuals experiencing psychological difficulties requiring specialised assessment, crisis intervention, or short-term psychotherapeutic care. It notably offers consultations for students and young adults in training, as well as diagnostic assessments, interviews with relatives, and guidance towards the most appropriate resources when longer-term follow-up is indicated.

Mission

• You provide psychological and psychotherapeutic services to patients of the unit
• You conduct brief psychotherapeutic interventions according to the brief psychodynamic intervention (BPI) model, diagnostic assessments, and crisis interventions
• You contribute to the development of therapeutic projects and ensure the administrative follow-up related to care
• You participate in the orientation of new requests and collaborate closely with mental health network partners
• You take part in the unit's weekly clinical meeting and actively engage in interdisciplinary exchanges.

Profile

• You hold a Master’s degree in psychology (or a Bachelor’s) and are engaged in training leading to the title of specialist psychologist in psychotherapy recognised by the FOPH
• You possess solid knowledge of adult psychopathology
• You have a strong interest in crisis interventions, outpatient care, and network work
• You demonstrate excellent listening, analytical, and communication skills
• You appreciate interdisciplinary work, are autonomous, and have good organisational skills.

Depending on your profile, the salary scale ranges between levels 9 and 11.
