Research Associate KÜG 70%Good for life – that is our motto. As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Career Counselling is responsible for services in the field of child and youth welfare as well as career counselling. The service area of supplementary assistance is responsible for the implementation of the Child and Youth Home Act (KJG).
For the Case Financing Department, which is responsible for reviewing all cost coverage guarantees (KÜG) for supplementary educational assistance for children and young people in Zurich, we are seeking a professionally qualified individual from the fields of social work or educational sciences from 1 August 2026 or by arrangement, limited until 31 December 2030.
Your area of responsibility
Together with other research associates and supported by administrative assistants, you are responsible for reviewing and granting or rejecting all applications for cost coverage (KÜG). In addition, you inform and advise various stakeholders such as applicants, youth welfare offices, authorities, and providers on all questions related to case financing within the framework of the Child and Youth Home Act. Together with the entire team, you actively contribute to the optimisation of various processes.
Your profile
- University of applied sciences or university degree in social work, educational sciences, or related disciplines
- Experience in child protection, indication setting, allocation, and case management
- High self- and social competence, organisational skills, efficient, independent, and reliable working style
- Analytical thinking, interest in legal and financial issues
- Fluent and target group-appropriate expression in spoken and written form
- High resilience and stress tolerance when dealing with a high caseload
