The city of Illnau-Effretikon - located between Winterthur and Zurich - offers attractive conditions for around 18,000 inhabitants with its rural and urban areas, hamlets, centres, and the historic village of Kyburg.

Our team in the Building Department is committed to the city’s properties - mainly schools and kindergartens - throughout their entire lifecycle. To complement our team, we are looking for a service-oriented individual as of 1 October 2026 or by arrangement.

• The care and maintenance of outdoor areas, green spaces, and paved hard surfaces.
• The proper separation, disposal, and management of waste and recyclable materials.
• Participation in the structural and technical maintenance of buildings and facilities.
• Carrying out winter services to ensure operational and traffic safety on the premises.
• Performing maintenance, intermediate, and deep cleaning in the buildings.
• Competent support and assistance to our users regarding matters related to the property.
• Substituting for colleagues in the caretaker area.

• Have completed training as a specialist in operational maintenance EFZ, specialising in building services, or have a comparable qualification.
• Possess good oral and written German skills.
• Ideally have some professional experience and a flair for the requirements of school operations.
• Contribute to constructive exchanges with your commitment, strong customer orientation, and reliable manner.
• Are characterised by an independent, efficient, and service-oriented working style.
• Have PC user skills and ideally hold a category B driving licence.
