Position: Partner & Head of Investment Funds
Location: Zurich
Workload: 100% full-time
Objective
The Partner & Head of Investment Funds is responsible for leading and expanding the firm’s investment funds practice. The position combines top-tier legal expertise with business acumen and strategic leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Strategic legal advice for Swiss and international clients on all aspects of investment fund law
- Leading the structuring, establishment and regulatory approval of various fund types (e.g. private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, hedge funds, UCITS, AIF)
- Supporting clients with ongoing fund operations, governance and compliance matters
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating fund documents, including limited partnership agreements, asset management agreements, prospectuses and subscription documents
- Representing clients before regulatory authorities (e.g. FINMA) and, if necessary, in court or arbitration proceedings
- Acquiring new mandates and strengthening the firm’s market position in funds and asset management
- Maintaining and expanding long-term client relationships through high-quality service and proactive engagement
- Developing business development strategies, contributing to thought leadership (e.g. articles, webinars, events) and representing the firm at industry conferences
- Leading and expanding the investment funds team within the firm, supporting its strategic and operational development
- Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and associates, promoting professional development and knowledge exchange
- Ensuring compliance with internal quality standards, billing targets and operational goals
Requirements
Education
- Swiss bar admission and top qualifications
- Excellent academic achievements in law (Master’s degree/PhD)
- Additional studies in business or financial law
Professional Experience
- At least 10 years of proven professional experience as a lawyer, preferably in a partner role at a law firm, an auditing firm or in a senior position in the legal department of a bank or asset management company
- Confident style, good English and German skills
- Additional languages (e.g. French, Italian) are an advantage
