Apprenticeship as an IT Specialist EFZ Application Development 2027 100%Do you want to become part of Switzerland's economic engine and shape your professional future with the Canton of Zurich? Then you are exactly right with us. Around 300 apprentices complete their training with us in 25 different professions. Of these, around 70 young people are currently training in the ICT sector.
Training places for IT specialists in the field of application development are available, for example, at the building insurance, the Office of IT, and the Office for Secondary and Vocational Education. A 24/7 available ICT infrastructure is indispensable in today's working world. The internal IT departments with their employees and apprentices ensure its smooth operation.
The Apprenticeship
In the four-year apprenticeship to become an IT Specialist EFZ Application Development, you will learn to plan, develop, test, and further develop modern software applications. Your training begins with a basic year, in which you acquire the most important professional fundamentals. Afterwards, you work with various programming languages, tools, and modern technologies.
You develop software using agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban and implement innovative ICT solutions together with customers and project teams. You will deal with topics such as software architecture, databases, interfaces, and user interfaces. Quality, security, and the protection of information and data play a central role.
The Requirements
You attend secondary school level A and achieve good results, especially in mathematics, German, and English. You are interested in IT and technical contexts and have a pronounced analytical and logical-abstract way of thinking. In addition, you are characterised by a quick grasp, teamwork skills, and enjoyment in dealing with people.
