About the job
More scope for creativity, less bureaucracy - your leadership role in one of the most beautiful regions of Switzerland
Take on responsibility in a practice where you can truly make a difference - with direct influence on the further development of the location, state-of-the-art diagnostics, and a region that ideally combines nature, quality of life, and proximity to St. Gallen.
The practice belongs to an established outpatient healthcare provider with several locations in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Currently, three doctors (General Internal Medicine, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics/Hand Surgery) and four dedicated medical practice assistants work at the respective location. The equipment is already at a modern level - laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound, ECG - and a comprehensive renovation is planned for 2026 to ensure the premises also meet the latest standards visually.
The position offers a unique opportunity to lead a well-established rural medical practice into the future. The current location manager will reduce their workload in mid-2026 and focus more on pure consultation activities. This creates a long-term stable and responsible role with genuine prospects for you.

- Further development of medical services and active participation in practice modernisation
- Representation of the location towards network partners and internal specialist departments
Your skills:
- Specialist in General Internal Medicine or General Practitioner (in Germany: General Practitioner)
- Interest in leadership responsibility or existing management experience
- Enjoyment of a broad general practice role in an interdisciplinary environment
- Appreciative communication style and strong team orientation
- Good German language skills (at least C1 to meet cantonal requirements)
Your benefits:
- 42-45 hours per week, modern and fair working time models
- More holiday days than legally required
- Generous support for further education and training
- Generous continued salary payment in case of illness - up to 730 days
- Full salary continuation in case of accidents, inpatient private insurance
- Discounts for various local offers
- Possibility of unpaid leave by arrangement
- Work in a healthcare company that maintains a recognised training partnership
Regional added value:
- Work in the Appenzell region - between tradition, nature, and proximity to St. Gallen
- Ideal region for nature lovers (hiking, skiing, lakes, gastronomy)
- Family-friendly environment, safe conditions, short distances
- Perfect for doctors seeking peace - yet excellently connected
