RECHENZENTRUM Ostschweiz, one of the few Tier-IV level data centres in Switzerland, focuses on excellence and efficiency.

Flows of people and materials are automatically secured by FASTCOM's SMACS solutions, thus meeting the highest security standards.

The SMACS solutions allow for both security and flexibility simultaneously.

FASTCOM Technology SA announces the completion of the project with RECHENZENTRUM Ostschweiz, Switzerland. The SMACS Flex and SMACS Mat solutions secure flows of people and materials via separate paths for optimal security. The data centre will be certified at Tier IV level.

The challenge: Rechenzentrum Ostschweiz wants to be synonymous with excellence and efficiency. To achieve these goals, the best solutions are used. Thanks to the photovoltaic installation and sophisticated adiabatic cooling, it is currently the most energy-efficient data centre in Switzerland. The data centre is certified at Tier IV level and achieves the highest availability standard of 99.998%. The building is fully redundant up to the last rack. In this context, the security concept must be of the highest level. In particular, all flows of people and materials must be secured. Typical flows include people, disabled persons, hand luggage and large equipment.

The solution: To optimally secure the different flows, the SMACS Flex and SMACS Mat solutions are installed. The SMACS Flex solution is a 2-door airlock fully integrated into the architectural infrastructure. Flows of people, including disabled persons, and hand luggage flows are secured simultaneously. With an airlock size of more than 15 m2, the SMACS Mat takes responsibility for securing material flows.

Special modes, including emergency exit mode and specific processes, are available.
