We are:
Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 women and men from diverse professions. JuWe is primarily responsible for the enforcement of court judgments and the execution of pre-trial detention. For JuWe employees, preventing recidivism and the successful social reintegration of offenders is of particular importance.
The Probation and Enforcement Services (BVD) are one of eight main departments of JuWe and are responsible for the enforcement of prison sentences and court-ordered measures as well as probation assistance.
The Legal Service (JD) department of Enforcement 2 has an advisory function and supports all legal questions related to measure enforcement.
For the JD department, we are looking for a committed and communicative personality starting June 1, 2026, or by agreement (limited to 1 year).
This is your field of activity
- Dealing with legal issues, mainly in the areas of criminal and administrative law, in an interdisciplinary working environment according to the ROS model
- Reviewing and deciding on applications for legal aid
- Accompanying or independently conducting and recording hearings of convicts in the enforcement institutions of the Canton of Zurich, the Eastern Swiss Penal Enforcement Concordat, and beyond
- Drafting orders/applications (e.g., concerning extension of measures, enforcement relaxations, leave, conditional release, etc.) and supporting the preparation of statements in appeal procedures
- Research regarding measure enforcement in various legal areas
- Taking minutes at internal and external meetings
You bring with you
- Master’s degree in law; initial relevant internship or professional experience (e.g., at a court or an administrative authority) is an advantage
- Very good written and spoken German skills
- Good IT user skills
- Independent, proactive, and organized working style as well as resilience in terms of time and content
- High social competence and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
- Impeccable reputation
