About the job

The main IT department of the Canton of Glarus is the central IT competence and service centre of the cantonal administration. It ensures the reliable operation and further development of IT and supports the administration in the digital transformation.

To strengthen the Projects & Application Management unit, we are immediately seeking an experienced and committed individual as

Project Manager IT & Digitalisation 80–100 %

immediately or by arrangement, based in Glarus.

Tasks

• Overall responsibility for digitalisation and IT projects from initiation through conception and implementation to successful completion, especially in the area of specialised applications and administrative processes
• Leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary project teams and stakeholders as well as ensuring collaboration between specialist departments, IT, management and external partners
• Digitalisation and optimisation of business processes in cooperation with the specialist departments as well as advising on suitable digital solutions and their optimal use
• Development and introduction of digital services and government services, especially in cooperation with the Digital Administration unit and for the service portal my.gl.ch
• Creation and maintenance of the required project documentation including project mandates, project plans, decision bases and other relevant documents

Requirements

• Completed higher education in the field of computer science, business administration or a comparable subject area or an equivalent qualification based on many years of professional experience
• Proven experience as a project manager in independently leading demanding and cross-departmental projects
• Experience in leading and coordinating interdisciplinary project teams as well as dealing with different stakeholder groups
• Analytical and conceptual skills as well as the ability to quickly grasp complex issues and prepare them in an understandable way
• High personal responsibility, decision-making and assertiveness as well as a structured and solution-oriented way of working
• Confident and convincing appearance at different hierarchical levels
• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form (French language skills desirable)
