Collaborator for our Listening and Advice Service against Racism for the Canton of Fribourg 40%, Fixed-term 4-5 months, (m/f/d)
The "Info-Racism Fribourg" service is part of the Migration & Integration Department of Caritas Switzerland and offers, on behalf of the canton, a place of listening and advice for people facing situations of racial discrimination. Depending on their needs, the person responsible for the service will offer legal advice, administrative support, guidance to an appropriate service, direct intervention with a third party, or simply information.
To temporarily replace the service manager, we are looking for an autonomous and motivated person, ready to ensure the consultation part of the service in order to meet the needs of victims or witnesses as well as organisations that contact the Service.
Your tasks
- Administrative support, intervention, mediation, information, social and/or legal advice and guidance to victims or witnesses of racism; as well as to organisations requesting the Service
- Active participation within the French-speaking and national networks of advice centres for victims and witnesses of racism
Our requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, or an equivalent qualification, or a Federal VET Diploma as a Socio-Educational Assistant
- Proven professional experience in counselling, mediation, preferably in the field of racism prevention and issues related to discrimination
- Empathy and listening skills
- Knowledge of the Fribourg associative, institutional and political network
- Fluency in oral and written communication using modern means
- Autonomy, initiative and flexibility regarding working hours
- Mastery of French or German, ideally with good knowledge of the other language. Any other language is an asset.
The workplace is Fribourg.
Start date: 15 December 2026 or by agreement.
