Shift Supervisor GZW 80 - 100%With around 1400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
As part of the UGZ, the Zurich West Prison is located in the Police and Justice Centre Zurich and has 241 detention places. It specialises in provisional detention and remand custody and plays a key role in the admission and initial care of incarcerated persons.
From 1 October 2026, we are looking for a committed, dynamic and assertive personality for Zurich West Prison.
In provisional detention, incarcerated persons are accompanied during the difficult initial phase after arrest. Your daily routine is characterised by supervisory tasks, where you always keep security-relevant aspects in mind.
We work in a regulated shift system, which means you will work weekend, night and special shifts. You are willing to contribute to quality assurance and the further development of operations.

What you bring
- You have a completed federal vocational certificate, a (specialist) baccalaureate or an equivalent qualification
- Ideally, you have completed or started basic training as a specialist in correctional services with a federal specialist certificate
- Initial experience in operational leadership as well as in training is an advantage
- You have very good German skills as well as at least one other language and are proficient in IT applications
- Your strengths such as resilience, assertiveness, conflict management and confident appearance distinguish you
- You are at least 25 years old and have an impeccable reputation with no entries in the criminal and debt enforcement registers
