Portrait of the School/Institution
The Salome Brunner Foundation is committed to around 300 children and adolescents with speech development disorders and learning difficulties. With our various schools, we see ourselves as an important part of the educational landscape of the Canton of Bern.
The Wabern Speech Therapy School is a special public school for children and adolescents with a complex speech development disorder as well as an intellectual disability and comprises 21 classes from primary level to the vocational preparation school year (BVS). Small classes allow for addressing the individual needs of the students. Speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy take place as individual therapy. Socio-pedagogical care is offered by the school-complementary services of day school and boarding school.

Tasks
- You teach textile and technical design in middle and upper school classes
- The lessons take place in half classes: 3 to 4 students
- Working days: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
- All children are affected by speech impairments and a cognitive impairment.
Requirements
- Completed training in the field of design, preferably with teaching experience in special education
- Joy and interest in working with children with special needs in the areas of language, communication, behavior, and learning
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and mutual support
- You have an idea of individualized teaching and how to proceed in challenging situations
