About the job

The Oberi Children and Youth Home is an offer of the residential youth welfare of the City of Winterthur. In our four coeducational and mixed-age residential groups, we offer a total of 32 places for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years. Two groups specialise in children (5 – 13 years) and two in adolescents (13 – 18 years). For one of our children’s residential groups, we are looking for a trainee from 1 August 2026 or by arrangement until 31 January 2027 (possibly until 31 July 2027)

Your Tasks

Designing and structuring the daily routine of eight children aged between 5 and 12 years

Accompanying and organising leisure activities

Implementing developmental goals

Supporting domestic tasks (cooking, shopping, chores)

Participation in the summer camp as well as in overarching institutional events

Your Profile

Minimum age 22 years

Good communication skills, high social competence

Assertiveness, flexibility, resilience and humour

Good PC skills, good oral and written expression

Willingness to work evening shifts (but no night shifts and only very limited weekend presence)
