About the job
Your new role
As a professional guardian or adult protection officer, you will manage adult protection mandates on behalf of the KESB Region St.Gallen. You will be competently supported in administrative tasks by our specialist services. You will take over an existing portfolio of mandates and be part of a committed and high-performing team composed of a mix of social workers and legally trained professionals. Together and interdisciplinarily, we provide high-quality child and adult protection. Are you keen to be part of this team?
This position is for you if you
- have a tertiary qualification as a social worker or an equivalent qualification.
- ideally already have practical experience in managing guardianship measures or have worked in related areas.
- have further training in adult protection law, social insurance law, mediation, or systemic/solution-oriented counselling.
- have sound knowledge of social insurance and accounting or are motivated to acquire these skills on the job.
- are confident in handling crisis and conflict situations.
- enjoy working with a wide variety of people, professionals, and family constellations and have a good approach to managing different expectations.
- are persuasive, goal-oriented, and assertive.

The professional guardianship department, with around 60 employees, is a division of the Social Services. It carries out guardianship measures on behalf of the Child and Adult Protection Authority Region St.Gallen. We maintain lively professional exchanges with various offices within and outside the city administration.
