About the job
BE GREAT TOGETHER WITH US.
Innovation, efficiency and determination: That is what VAT has stood for for over 50 years.
With this passion, VAT has grown to become the internationally leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of high-performance high-end vacuum valves and vacuum sealing technology, employing over 2000 people worldwide. The headquarters are located in Haag (Switzerland), with production centres in Switzerland, Malaysia, Romania and Taiwan.
In the Business Unit Global Services, we are looking for a committed and versatile individual to complement our team.
In the role as
Project Manager Control Valves, BU GSE (100%)
you are responsible for product engineering and product development around globally marketed valve upgrades, valve retrofits and valve repair programmes (with a focus on all control valve families).
As a member of our engineering team in the Business Unit Global Services (BU GSE), you independently and flexibly support the market-facing product managers. You analyse business opportunities and clarify all details regarding technical feasibility and economic viability.
Your goal is to develop attractive "ready-to-sell" solutions together with the developers and designers of the other business units. You work closely with the product managers who take care of business development and the complete marketing mix, while you, as project manager, bring the right valve service solutions to market on time together with the engineering partners (especially field application engineers).
Your tasks:
- Technical clarifications for product management and global sales
- Technical analysis of identified upgrade, retrofit and repair opportunities
- Initiating and conducting C&F studies (Concept & Feasibility)
- Selecting the right valve series as a basis for valve retrofits
- Conducting fit, form and function checks and risk assessments
- Preparation and provision of all relevant interface information for engineering
- Initiating and leading (project management) product developments/product modifications (stage-gate process)
- Development and design of prototypes and qualification for customer evaluations
- Adherence to project timelines and achievement of project goals (costs, specifications, profitability, quality)
- Definition of the installation, commissioning and repair process for field application engineers
- Close cooperation with the engineering of the business units and the valve laboratory (work packages, capacities, deadlines)
- Support with research and installations on site at the customer
- International travel (approx. 5-10%)
- Participation in building a GSE engineering network in our branch in Malaysia
- Deputising for product managers (technical matters)
You bring with you:
- Completed training in mechatronics / mechanical engineering / precision engineering (Bachelor or equivalent)
with a good reference to control technology - Proven experience and success in engineering (product development) / project management in a global high-tech environment (advantage: VAT product knowledge, control valves, control technology)
- Knowledge/experience in vacuum and coating technology (e.g. SEMI industry) is also an advantage
You also have a systematic and goal-oriented way of working using modern PC infrastructure (Office suite, project management tools) and are characterised by a quick grasp of things.
In addition to good German and English skills (fluent in spoken and written), good communication skills, resilience and social competence are required. International travel (occasionally) is no problem for you (focus Asia, Malaysia).
We offer you an interesting, responsible and varied position in an international environment and a dynamic and successful company. Supporting your further development according to your strengths and goals in this position as well as within the department or the business unit (international engineering network) is important to us.
