Departmental Communication Manager DAL - DNC
The Department of the Locomotor System and the Department of Clinical Neurosciences are looking for their future communication specialist for a workload between 80% and 100%, starting July 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of the Locomotor System includes the rheumatology, orthopedic surgery and traumatology, plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery and hand surgery services, the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as the Sports Medicine Center and the Chiropractic Unit. It manages pathologies related to the skeleton, tendons, and joints, whether of accidental or degenerative origin.
The Department of Clinical Neurosciences includes the neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation services, the Leenaards Memory Center, the Neuroscience Research Center, and the Spinal Surgery Service. It offers integrated and personalized care to patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from the brain to the muscle.
Mission
At the heart of a dynamic university hospital environment, you play a key role in promoting high-impact clinical, academic, and human activities within two leading medical departments by developing clear and coherent communication.
- You define and deploy an internal and external communication strategy aligned with the objectives of the two departments, in close collaboration with their management and the communication and audiovisual creation service
- You actively contribute to departmental projects from their conception and ensure the coherence and relevance of messages
- You support the various services in their communication actions and promote their activities to target audiences
- You advise and support management in their managerial and institutional communication
- You participate in cross-communication projects and collaborate, as needed, with central communication and other departments.
Profile
- You have training in journalism, communication, or an equivalent background, ideally complemented by project management training, and you want to put your skills to work in a high-impact environment
- You have acquired confirmed experience (minimum 5 years) in the press and/or institutional communication, allowing you to operate comfortably in demanding contexts
- You combine excellent writing skills, a sense of angle, and proactivity, with strong analytical and synthesis abilities
- You enjoy collaborating, building relationships, and working in complex environments, demonstrating diplomacy, flexibility, and interpersonal skills
- You are comfortable with digital tools and new communication formats
- You are well acquainted with the healthcare network, institutions, and challenges in the health sector, enabling you to quickly understand your environment and interlocutors.
