Head of Production Print and Digital Media (100%)
Your role in the team
- You work closely with the publishing management, advise them on all production-related topics, and thus significantly shape the publishing house.
- You lead the "Production Print and Digital Media" department and are responsible for ten team members. You recruit new employees and are responsible for resource planning and budget preparation.
- You coordinate the production department, lead the weekly production meetings and the daily stand-up meetings in production.
- You maintain networks in the media production industry (print and digital) and in the education sector.
- You take overall operational responsibility for implementing new production technologies, such as the transition from "Print First" to "Content First" using XML workflow and publishing CMS.
- You advise the team on production implementations of printed and digital publications.
- You monitor the costs of printing and layout orders as well as digital developments.
- You organize and plan the printing and distribution of print products as well as the production of all digital teaching and learning media in close cooperation with the editorial department and external developers.
- You design optimization measures in production and communication processes in close collaboration with the team.
What you bring
- You have completed vocational training as a polygrapher or come from a similar professional field and have solid knowledge of common Adobe applications for media processing.
- You have several years of leadership experience.
- You have good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- You have experience with digital publication formats (e-book, app, web) and their workflows, are familiar with new media as well as technologies such as CSS, HTML5, and XML. Technical know-how in building classic book layouts is an advantage.
- You have experience in implementing digital projects.
- You are already familiar with the publishing industry. You are knowledgeable in various areas, including production processes (print and digital), accessibility, project management, as well as budgeting and tendering.
- You have high social skills and excellent communication abilities.
- You live a positive leadership style based on flat hierarchies and have a positive, respect-based view of people.
- You can handle time pressure well and set priorities sensibly under high workload, are dynamic, and work according to the credo: "Everything is possible."
