Is this helpful?
Due to the election of the previous HSGYM coordinator to a school management position, HSGYM is looking for a coordinator to lead HSGYM starting from the 2026/27 school year or by agreement.
HSGYM enlivens the dialogue and networking at the interface between university and high school in the Zurich education sector and supports initiatives that shape and optimize this important transition. Specifically, this means: Once a year, HSGYM organizes the "Autumn Conference of Subject Conferences" as a central networking event, to which delegates from all schools are invited. Every three years, a full-day "University Day for High Schools" is held at UZH or ETH. In the intervening years, HSGYM alternately visits the universities of applied sciences. In addition, HSGYM pursues other projects, such as an expert pool for matriculation exams or sabbaticals for high school teachers at UZH and ETH.
The overall management of HSGYM is the responsibility of the steering committee "HSGYM Strategy," which includes the rectors of ETH, PHZH, ZHAW, and ZHdK, the vice-rector of UZH, the SLK, and the High School and Vocational Education Office of the Canton of Zurich. The operational management is carried out by the seven-member "HSGYM Management." In addition to the coordinator, it includes one representative each from SLK and LKM, as well as two representatives each from ETH and UZH.
The HSGYM coordinator is the hub of the HSGYM process. He/she independently and reliably supports the HSGYM management bodies in organizational and administrative matters. He/she coordinates the core groups and subject conferences, organizes conferences and events together with the HSGYM management, serves as the liaison to the DLH Innovation Fund, manages the expert pool for matriculation exams, the HSGYM website, and all meetings of the HSGYM management as well as HSGYM Strategy – including preparation and follow-up of these meetings.
Applicants are permanently employed at a Zurich cantonal high school, organize carefully and reliably, enjoy communicating appropriately at various levels, take pleasure in demanding administrative and organizational work and participation in the mentioned committees, and are motivated to actively shape and improve the transition from high school to university. The task is relieved according to actual workload, with a maximum of five annual lessons per school year credited to the hours account. A thorough introduction by the current HSGYM coordinator is guaranteed.
