Head of Finance & Administration Department 100% (m/f/d)
Since March 2024, Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centres for families, individuals and unaccompanied minors (UAM) at six locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the cantonal social office (KSA).
We are looking for reinforcement for the cross-location department management and to support the co-heads of department.
Your tasks
- Definition, monitoring and optimisation of the administrative and financial (budgets, accounting, controlling) management processes of the department in close cooperation with the department management, headquarters and the asylum centres
- Management and organisation of accounting in cooperation with the head office
- Co-responsibility for the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements as well as invoicing
- Co-responsibility for the preparation of annual budgets
- Support of the asylum centres in all financial matters
- Ensuring compliance with cantonal requirements and Caritas Switzerland’s guidelines in the Finance and Administration department
- Implementation of a dashboard and ensuring regular analytical reporting
- Management of the internal control system and ensuring monitoring
Our requirements
- Federal diploma in finance and accounting with at least 5 years of professional experience in a corresponding position or an equivalent recognised qualification / Bachelor’s degree from a University of Applied Sciences
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role managing a budget of at least 1 million (public and semi-public funding)
- Excellent work organisation and independence, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision and conscientiousness
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, forward-thinking and planning ability
- Proficiency in German (spoken and written), excellent editorial skills
- Very good command of specialised applications (Abacus) and common office software
- Knowledge in controlling, conducting audits and handling legal disputes
