The School Social Work department of the Department of School and Sports is part of the school support services in the school office. As an offer of outpatient child and youth welfare, school social work operates in a low-threshold, impartial, and confidential manner. Its goal is to support students with individual and social problems, as well as in their personal development, so that they can shape their school time and future as positively and successfully as possible.

Your Tasks

We offer two students a SSA one-year internship from August 2026 to July 2027. Your workload is 50%. During the school term, you work 3 days and compensate the extra time during the school holidays. Your tasks as an intern or social worker in training (SAiA) include:

Consultation and support for children, parents, teachers, and school management

Intervention and prevention with classes and groups

Professional child protection & crisis interventions

Collaboration in managing acute problems

Triage and coordination with other specialist agencies and authorities

You will be accompanied and supported in your tasks by a professional practitioner. You are part of the SSA Winterthur team and participate in all team meetings. Due to our work organization, Monday is a mandatory working day.

Studying Social Work

You are a team player, resilient, independent, communicative, and maintain a respectful approach to people of different ages and backgrounds

Minimum age: 24 years
