From the autumn semester 2026, the Department of Music will be
Lectureship in Speech Technique for Singing Students (25–50%)
newly appointed in the profile Interpretation and Performance.
We are looking for a versatile, artistically and pedagogically competent individual with broad experience in delivering solid training in the modules Fundamentals of Speech Technique and Phonetics (group lessons) as well as Speech Technique (individual lessons). In the Major Singing, you will teach fundamental skills in vocally healthy handling of sung language and exemplary diction.
We expect excellent pedagogical skills and teaching experience in higher education or a willingness to develop further in these areas. As part of your regular presence at the Toni Areal, you will take responsibility for the continuous training of singing students in the area of speech technique. You are prepared to take on tasks outside of teaching within the Department of Music and actively participate in the artistic life of the university.

The trial lesson and subject interview will probably take place on 19 and 27 June 2026 in Zurich. The trial lesson will be conducted publicly at the university.
