Lab Assistant 80-100% (m/f/d)

As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Lab Assistant for a temporary assignment of 12 months, with high probability of extension.

The Research & Development Services team at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) leads the management of R&D laboratories and associated equipment to ensure the safety, compliance and smooth operations of local R&D laboratories. The Lab Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the BSL1 and BSL2 laboratories, managing waste collection, and overseeing the stocking of common consumables within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS).

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Responsible for regular cleaning and disinfection of BSL-1 and BSL-2 labs, with a focus on BSL-2 labs, according to the hygiene plan as described in the hygiene operating instructions.
• Documentation of cleaning activities in compliance with good documentation practices.
• Waste registration in SAP and labeling according to relevant procedures and instructions.
• Waste collection from the labs and disposal in the designated waste area.
• Collection of used lab coats for laundry services and distribution of clean lab coats in the BSL-1 and BSL-2 areas.
• Restocking of PPE and lab consumables in labs and changeover areas, and any other areas where necessary.
• Ordering of PPE, common consumables, and reagents and stocking them in designated areas.
• Operation of dishwashers and autoclaves for washing and autoclaving of lab glassware and trays/racks.
• Collection of pipettes from the lab for calibration and distribution upon return in coordination with the Equipment managers.
• Providing support to Lab managers and Equipment managers during maintenance, calibration, or audits.
• Organisation of maintenance and transportation of unused equipment.

Must Haves

• Willingness to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, and regularly lifting heavy waste bins.
• Willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material.
• Proficiency in German (B2 level) and English (B2 level).
• Proficiency with MS Excel and the Google Suite.
• Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Nice to Haves

• Apprenticeship in pharmaceutical or diagnostics.
• Relevant experience in a cleaning or laboratory environment.
• Hepatitis B vaccination (can also be provided by Roche).
