Supervisor - Care Worker 80 - 100%With around 1400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and the Interior and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Zurich Enforcement Facilities (VEZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe. They comprise four institutions with a total of 314 enforcement places and around 230 employees. The VEZ house persons in closed and open enforcement, semi-detention, as well as in administrative detention under immigration law. The VEZ ensure the accommodation, care and employment of the persons placed there and thus contribute to preventing recidivism and to public safety.
As part of the VEZ, the Centre for Administrative Detention under Immigration Law, located in close proximity to Zurich Airport, has 130 detention places. It is responsible for the accommodation of persons without a valid residence status whose immigration procedures must be secured. It takes into account different personal and individual needs of the persons placed there.
To strengthen the Care & Security Service (BSD) of the ZAA, we are looking for a flexible personality to start immediately or by arrangement.
This is your field of activity
- You care for, occupy and accompany persons placed within the daily structures and act as a contact person for concerns
- You ensure an orderly daily routine, ensure compliance with and enforcement of safety and service regulations, and understand how to recognise and manage critical situations
- You take on administrative tasks, such as writing reports and documenting events
This is what you bring
- You can demonstrate a completed vocational training EFZ and are willing to attend further training such as the SKJV basic training to become a correctional services specialist
- You are a team-oriented, empathetic and precise personality with an independent and solution-oriented working style
- You express yourself well in German both in writing and orally, preferably have knowledge of a second language (English/French/Italian) and are familiar with the MS Office suite
- You find it easy to resolve difficult situations in a de-escalating and consistent manner
- You are mentally and physically resilient and can reconcile changing working hours with other commitments (shift work; Sundays and public holidays)
- You are at least 25 years old and have an impeccable reputation (no entries in the criminal record or debt enforcement register)
