A role at the heart of supporting children

Attached to the Social Cohesion Service, you will join the Concorde extracurricular team and actively participate in welcoming and supporting children outside school hours. You contribute to their well-being, safety, and development within a caring, stimulating environment conducive to social learning.

In collaboration with the educational team, you participate in organising the daily life of the facility, implementing educational projects, and developing activities that promote autonomy, socialisation, and inclusion of children. Through your commitment, sense of responsibility, and team spirit, you help provide quality care that meets the needs of children and their families.

To complete the Concorde extracurricular team, the municipality of Chavannes-près-Renens is advertising the position of:

Childcare Educator ES/Socio-Educational Assistant at 80% or 32 hours per week

In this role, you will notably be required to:

• Organise, plan and conduct various meetings with parents (reviews, discussions during particular situations and crises);
• Participate in institutional life (celebrations, various meetings, conferences);
• Apply the institution’s rules and ensure their respect;
• Plan and organise the daily running of the facility in collaboration with the team (project implementation, group outings, activities);
• Create and maintain a safe, stimulating and caring environment to promote children’s well-being;
• Ensure the daily support of children in cognitive, emotional, social and physical development;
• Observe and detect any developmental difficulties or unusual behaviours;
• Initiate various educational projects, from conception to realisation;
• Contribute to cohesion, communication and a positive dynamic within the educational team;
• Participate in the training of apprentices, socio-educational assistants and interns.

Your profile:

You show a strong interest in supporting children within the framework of extracurricular care. Sensitive to the quality of supervision, you appreciate teamwork and actively participate in implementing the facility’s educational project. You place particular importance on listening, inclusion, development and the well-being of children. You enjoy working in a team and actively contribute to a collaborative dynamic, while ensuring a safe and caring atmosphere for children and their families.

You identify with the following qualities:

• Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as Socio-Educational Assistant;
• Childcare Educator ES or equivalent qualification;
• Creative, with ideas for activities leading children to multiple discoveries;
• Dynamic and open to working for a municipal service;
• Minimum of 3 years’ confirmed experience;
• Ability to promote harmonious collaboration;
• Good skills in writing reports, minutes and frameworks for meetings with families;
• Dynamic, versatile and ready to invest in a municipal service;
• Ability to build trust;
• Adaptability to change and interest in multicultural environments.
