For August 2026 we offer you in Dübendorf a
at our research institute in Dübendorf. We offer you a three-year training by qualified and motivated professional and practical trainers. Your training company is very well accessible by public transport.
Commercial employees plan, organize, systematize, file, inform, calculate, link, document, protocol, purchase, order, control, communicate, advise, and receive. Hardly any other profession encompasses such a versatile range of activities and areas of responsibility as the profession of a commercial employee.
As an apprentice in the profession of commercial employee, you will rotate in six-month assignments in the various training departments at our institute. This way, you will experience the diversity of a research operation up close and gain experience in various commercial fields of activity.
Besides the initial familiarization with the central service departments such as mail and housekeeping, reception, telephone exchange, and library, you will be introduced to the varied activities of the vocational training department and a research department's secretariat. Here, foreign languages naturally play an important role - English is the working language in international research! In the staff department, the practice-oriented Eawag courses (PEAK) as well as public relations are located. Here, you will deal with the organization of courses and the distribution of publications. The activities in the field of accounting and third-party funding are also important for the KV training and will not be neglected during the training. Finally, in the human resources department, you will learn how to handle confidential data and process employment relationships from contract issuance to termination. At the end of your apprenticeship, you will have a broad basic knowledge of commercial matters, which can be further developed in any specialized direction.
You are in secondary school level A and have good grades in the core subjects, or you are attending the 10th grade and have very good grades. You are communicative, reliable, and structured, and you enjoy the digital working world. You like to take responsibility, work well in a team but also independently. Then we look forward to your application.
