Checkpoint Zurich is the health centre for queer people and one of the largest in Switzerland for HIV, sexually transmitted infections, and sexual health. We offer a comprehensive range of medical, psychological, and psychosocial services. Additionally, we conduct campaigns and community work. Checkpoint Zurich is part of Arud, a non-profit organisation in the field of outpatient medical care, and is operated in cooperation with the Sexual Health Zurich Association.
Are you a specialist in psychiatry, committed and competent? Then we are looking for you!
Your tasks:
- You take on psychiatric and psychotherapeutic assessment, counselling, and treatment of gay, queer, and trans people with complex issues with a great deal of personal responsibility and scope for creativity
- You work in a highly interdisciplinary team and actively contribute your professional perspective to the joint care
- You delegate purposefully and coordinate treatment closely with the psychology team
- You regularly participate in intervisions with the psychotherapists in the organisation
- You issue orders and cost approvals for our clients, in close collaboration with the psychology team
- You contribute to Checkpoint projects and help to further develop our services for the LGBTIQ+ community
What you bring:
- Completed specialist training in psychiatry and psychotherapy (FMH)
- Knowledge of the life realities of queer people and a closeness to the target group – whether through personal or professional experience – is desirable
- Strong team player qualities combined with the ability to independently and conscientiously handle responsible tasks even on busy days
- Openness and appreciation towards diverse life realities, sexual orientations, and gender identities
- Good communication skills, resilience, and flexibility in dealing with a demanding, diverse client base
- Enjoyment of direct client contact and working in an interdisciplinary, committed environment
- Foreign language skills are an advantage
What you can expect from us:
- You will deepen your expertise in addiction medicine and actively shape the collaboration between psychiatry, psychotherapy, internal medicine, and social work.
- We offer you a regulated 45-hour week from Monday to Friday, without night or weekend shifts in the ward operation, as well as 6 weeks of holiday and attractive pension fund conditions.
- We support you in further training and offer regular supervision and intervision.
