The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a globally renowned institute in the field of global health with a special focus on low- and middle-income countries. Associated with the University of Basel, Swiss TPH combines research, teaching, and services at local, national, and international levels. Around 1,000 people from 96 countries work at Swiss TPH in areas such as infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases, environment, society and health, as well as health systems and programs.
The Vector Biology Group is looking for several interns for the period from May 1 to October 31, 2026, for 3 to 6 months:
Interns Biology/Environmental Natural Sciences (100%)
Mosquitoes are vectors of numerous infectious diseases such as malaria or dengue. In the Vector Biology working group, we study the biology of disease-transmitting mosquitoes in laboratory and field studies. We also research and develop products for protection against mosquitoes and monitor the Asian tiger mosquito in Switzerland to be able to combat it effectively.
