School Herzogenbuchsee – Kindergarten and Primary School in the heart of Oberaargau: Centrally located on the main traffic axis between Bern and Olten, School Herzogenbuchsee offers children from the municipalities of Herzogenbuchsee and Niederönz comprehensive education from kindergarten to 6th grade. Currently, around 730 students are accompanied by a dedicated and versatile team of teachers at five school and five kindergarten locations. In addition to regular lessons, the school also coordinates special education in speech therapy and psychomotor skills for the surrounding schools in the region. We work with the New Authority to develop a respectful and clear attitude in dealing with students. Presence, relationship, and joint action instead of power and punishment are at the center.

Tasks
You will take over the maternity cover for a kindergarten class. From 20.04. you will take over Wednesday morning. From 01.06.2026 you will take over the entire cover and the class teacher function. There is the possibility to continue the cover until 31.01.2027.
You plan, design, and reflect on the lessons in the team and accompany the children in their social, emotional, and cognitive development. You work closely with parents, specialists, and the school team and participate in school events as well as in the further development of the kindergarten.
Requirements
- You have training as a Cycle 1 teacher or are completing it
- You enjoy working in a team and communicate on equal footing with teachers and parents
