A social and educational assistant

General mission of the position
Taking into account the specificities and set objectives, the ASE support worker accompanies residents throughout the day and assists them with daily living activities. They ensure the integration of residents and propose activities identified as suitable to their needs. They independently manage their own projects, designed considering the residence's activities. They are also involved in organising larger-scale events. Furthermore, within their role, they must maintain friendly relations with all stakeholders of the residences, particularly with residents and their close carers. During their activity, they must actively participate in maintaining and promoting residents' autonomy.
Main activities
- Resident management :
- Welcome and meet residents upon their arrival
- Participate in the resident's support and life project
- Promote a pleasant atmosphere within the residences and promote activities to residents and their relatives
- Manage and lead activities considering all constraints
- Participate in the development and implementation of activities related to support
- Propose personalised activities for residents who do not wish or cannot participate in other activities
- Promote the services and offerings of their department to residents and relatives
- Participate in the continuous improvement of services and quality
- Contribute to the quality of support for residents and relatives
- Record all useful information in the Resident's Computerised File
- Additional services to the residences' offer (special therapies, musicians, major annual events, etc.)
- Individualised support
- Plan an activity and implement support projects
- Manage materials / decorative accessories (flowers, display cases, furniture, etc.) and their use
- Be proactive in suggesting activity ideas to the support manager
- Assist residents daily, including with daily living activities
- Organise and conduct activities
- Manage external support events
- Ensure residents' adaptation
- Adapt to residents' lifestyles and expectations, considering the priorities of all other services
- Adopt an attitude of attention, empathetic listening, respect, understanding and humanity towards residents, their families, and colleagues from all services
- Ability to demonstrate a professional and positive mindset in all circumstances
- Responsibilities and representation :
- Respect the standards, guidelines and procedures provided for the proper management of their activity
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Be strictly bound by professional and functional secrecy
- React in all circumstances according to the residences' support philosophy
Activity residence: Pierre de la fée
Activity rate: 60%
Contract: maximum duration of one year
Irregular working hours: weekends, public holidays, evenings
Remuneration: According to the collective labour agreement of the Geneva federation of medico-social establishments
Start date: from 01.06.2026 to 31.05.2027 at the latest
Profile sought
Required training and profile
- Diploma: CFC Minimum 2 years experience as a support worker in a nursing home
- Professional and personal skills :
French level C1 minimum
Work organisation, especially in an interdisciplinary team Appropriation of the residences' support philosophy
Driving licence
FPP certificate an asset
IT: proficiency in common office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), knowledge of Sadies DIR software
