About the job
The Logistics Department ensures the timely supply of the Bern Cantonal Police with materials, equipment, and devices. It guarantees the readiness of operational materials and ensures that the necessary resources are available in perfect condition at all locations at all times.
Your tasks
- Responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the entire logistics area (procurement, inventory management) in close coordination with the corps management, Police Technology and IT Switzerland (PTI), as well as legal and financial services, in compliance with OÖBV guidelines
- Professional, organisational, and personnel leadership of the Logistics Department with a total of 20 employees, including direct management of staff members and managerial personnel
- Management of the entire procurement cycle from requirement gathering through offer evaluation to supplier management and ensuring quality controls
- Ensuring uninterrupted supply through operational management of all logistical processes (disposition, goods receipt, warehousing including inventory, transport, repair, and disposal) for uniforms, equipment, weapons, devices, and IDs
- Management of the procurement and inventory management cost centre with a focus on budget planning, cost analyses, and strict adherence to financial guidelines
- Application responsibility for the ERP system SAP Logistics (modules MM, SD) as well as the eShop, including process optimisation, user training, and ensuring high data quality
- Initiation and coordination of logistics projects as well as the development and enforcement of standards in process management in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Your profile
- Completed business studies (at least Bachelor FH/University) or federal diploma as purchasing/logistics manager with solid knowledge of procurement law (OÖBV), budget planning, and supplier management
- Several years of experience in purchasing or logistics, ideally in the public sector or a security-relevant environment, with proven expertise in managing complex procurement procedures and concluding framework agreements
- Proven leadership experience with a confident, appreciative leadership style
- Experience in gathering and standardising customer requirements in large-scale structures considering inter-cantonal framework conditions
- Confident handling of SAP S/4HANA (modules MM/SD) and eShop as well as in-depth knowledge of SAP logistics or comparable logistics systems
- Strong conceptual skills with experience in project work and the development of process standards
- Assertive, integral personality with pronounced communication skills, who acts solution-oriented and purposefully even under pressure
- Very good German language skills in spoken and written form as well as good knowledge of French and English
