About the job
At Endress+Hauser, progress happens through collaboration. As a world-leading provider of measuring instruments, our approximately 17,000 employees shape the future in the field of process automation. Whether innovating and implementing new technologies as a team, collaborating in the development of new devices, or strengthening important relationships with various global industries: our work is based on building trusting relationships that help everyone succeed. As a family-run company, we look beyond short-term goals and work to create a future-oriented vision for our employees, our customers, and the world in general.
We are looking for an intern in the area of decision support for second- and multi-sourcing in strategic electronics procurement to complement our global team and further develop our strategic electronics procurement with new perspectives, data understanding, and practical decision-making approaches. In this role, you will help make purchasing decisions more transparent, well-founded, and future-oriented.
What is this position about?
Do you want to understand how second- and multi-sourcing decisions are made in strategic electronics procurement? Do you enjoy structuring complex relationships and deriving clear decision bases from them? Do you want to help sustainably secure the supply of electronic components in a global company? Then an exciting internship awaits you, where you will work analytically, gain practical insights into strategic procurement, and make a visible contribution to resilient supply chains.
What tasks will you take on?
You will:
- analyse the current approach to evaluating and approving second- and multi-sourcing options and identify potential improvements.
- develop a comprehensible catalogue of criteria with weighting, minimum requirements, and decision logic.
- create a practical evaluation model, for example as an Excel or dashboard prototype to support decision-making.
- validate the model using selected real examples from electronics procurement and derive concrete recommendations for application.
- actively participate in DLPE benchmark campaigns as well as in RFQ and awarding processes.
- support communication with suppliers and internal interfaces, thus contributing to well-founded purchasing decisions.
What do we expect from you?
You:
- are studying industrial engineering, business administration, supply chain management, industrial engineering or a comparable field of study.
- ideally have a focus on strategic procurement, supply chain management, operations management, technology management, electronics or data analytics.
- work analytically and structured and have an interest in electronic components, procurement markets, as well as purchasing and supplier processes.
- enjoy data analysis and process design and communicate confidently with various interfaces in German and English.
- have very good MS Office skills, especially in Excel; initial experience with SAP, Power BI or comparable analysis and reporting tools is an advantage.
- work carefully and independently, are flexible, responsible, eager to learn, open to new things and have a quick grasp.
What can you expect from us?
- We are a family-run, committed company with a sustainable vision.
- We promote lifelong learning with diverse training and development opportunities, internal knowledge transfer and e-learning.
- We support work-life balance with flexible working hours.
- We offer support for sustainable mobility solutions such as public transport.
