The Office for Food Safety and Veterinary Affairs (LSVW) is tasked with protecting consumers through inspections and analyses from health-hazardous foods and consumer goods as well as from deception related to food, and ensuring the welfare and health of animals both for their own sake and for the benefit of humans.

Your tasks
- You develop and validate new analytical methods within the scope of the LSVW’s responsibilities for current chemical issues in the food and consumer goods sector
- You support the Chemistry sector in technical, operational, logistical and specialist matters and also carry out troubleshooting to some extent in the modern equipment park
- You ensure that the work you perform complies with QMS requirements and actively participate in various quality assurance activities
- You regularly conduct routine examinations of official samples
- In your role as Quality Assurance Manager QMS of the LSVW, you ensure that all accredited areas (ISO 17025/17020) implement the corresponding activities. This task includes collaboration and initiative in the continuous improvement of the QM system, appropriate and efficient QMS document management, preparation for and participation in official audits, as well as review and approval of the relevant QM documents
- You support the supervisor in other tasks as needed
Desired profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Science (FH) in analytical chemistry or a Master’s degree in chemistry or an equivalent engineering qualification
- You have extensive experience in chemical analysis of trace substances and possess sound knowledge and practical experience of the following analytical techniques: LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, IC, ICP-MS as well as other modern analytical techniques
- You have practical experience in QM systems (especially the standards ISO EN 17025 and 17020)
- You are proficient in common MS Office applications
- You are committed, efficient and work precisely and systematically. You prioritise your tasks with practical sense and are able to work both in a team and independently
- You demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality and possess excellent problem-solving skills for the benefit of various teams
- You show flexibility and willingness to perform and have discretion as well as tact and empathy in dealing with colleagues
- You are fluent in German or French with very good knowledge of the other language and have good knowledge of English
