About the job
The Bachelor of Arts in Art Education (BAE) is an attractive foundational programme for diverse teaching and mediation activities in the context of art and cultural education. Students are prepared for a first professional qualifying degree in various practical fields of Art Education or for a Master’s degree (e.g. a Master’s with a teaching diploma for Visual Arts at secondary level II). The course offers a comprehensive compulsory and elective programme focusing on learning and developmental processes in art education and aesthetic-cultural education.

Lecturer for Art Historical and Artistic Education (25-30%)
The advertisement is aimed at artists with an art historical or art theoretical background, proven continuous exhibition activity, and active involvement in the practical field. The portfolio demonstrates through own projects a pronounced interest in spatial and object issues or in drawing as an independent artistic expression.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and team-oriented personality who, in addition to a Master’s degree in one of the mentioned fields of activity, has a strong interest in educational processes and practices as well as university culture.
You are ready to further develop and implement the art historical or art theoretical education of our students as well as the development of artistic-creative skills in the mentioned areas within the team. You have the professional and higher education didactic prerequisites to plan, structure, and conduct courses. In the Bachelor Art Education, teaching offers are generally developed and realised in teams – experience in interdisciplinary collaboration is important. The courses take place weekly in a cursory manner or as quarterly projects. Team meetings, internal training, and programme-specific events are part of the employment.
We offer a varied and interesting teaching activity in a dynamic team and a contemporary study programme. As a lecturer, you actively shape the teaching offers and thus make a valuable contribution to the development of the programme.
