About the job
The city of Thun, with around 44,000 inhabitants, is an important place to work and live, fulfilling key central functions for the region and agglomeration. The City and Regional Library Thun offers a diverse range of media and services for all age groups: around 50,000 media items and a large digital library, as well as various courses and events in the field of reading promotion.
We are looking for a
Your tasks:
- Lending according to the duty roster, including daily closing
- Customer support and advice
- Planning and conducting children and youth events
- Planning and conducting class tours
- Contact with schools and school libraries
- Cataloguing, processing and repairing media
- Participation in events and projects
You bring with you:
- Completed training as an Information and Documentation Specialist with a Federal VET Diploma and professional experience in public libraries
- Broad general education and high media competence as well as experience in handling various e-media
- Very good oral and written German skills, additional language skills are an advantage
- Willingness to work regular Saturdays and evenings
- Team-oriented personality with precise, independent and solution-oriented working methods
- Service- and customer-oriented approach as well as quick comprehension
