Are you familiar with shoe provision, orthopaedic aids and/or rehabilitation technology and would like to apply your expertise in a new environment? With us, you make an important contribution to ensuring that our clients receive appropriate, economical and high-quality assistive device provision.
In this versatile specialist role, you strengthen our internal expertise, support our employees with demanding questions and actively develop our review processes further.
The IV Office of the Canton of Bern is undergoing change and is focusing on a modern corporate and leadership culture. We want to align our actions more closely with the needs of our clients and advance digitalisation. To successfully implement this development, we are creating new positions and looking for committed employees who actively shape the change.
What you can achieve with us
- You review applications and cost estimates for orthopaedic shoe provision as well as orthopaedic and rehabilitation technical aids.
- You assess the requested provisions in terms of appropriateness, simplicity, cost-effectiveness and tariff compliance.
- You conduct technical preliminary checks and decide which cases can be assessed internally and when an external specialist office should be involved.
- You clarify technical questions directly with service providers, therapists, doctors and other involved specialists.
- You contribute your knowledge to the development and application of review criteria, checklists and risk-based review processes.
- You support the employees and managers of the Benefits area with complex specialist questions and fundamental issues in these specialist fields.
Which skills are important to us
- You have completed vocational training as an (orthopaedic) shoemaker EFZ, specialist in orthopaedic shoe technology BP, orthopaedist EFZ, rehabilitation technology specialist BP or a comparable qualification (e.g. physiotherapist).
- You bring several years of professional experience in at least one of these specialist areas.
- You are familiar with the various provision options and ideally already have knowledge of the corresponding tariff structures.
- Knowledge of social insurance, especially regarding assistive device benefits of IV and AHV, is a plus. More important is your willingness to familiarise yourself with this subject area.
- You analyse complex matters quickly, think economically and arrive at clear, professionally justified recommendations.
- You work carefully, in a structured and independent manner and like to take responsibility.
- Even with differing interests, you represent your professional assessment clearly and solution-oriented.
- You appreciate exchange with different professional groups and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary environment.
- You are digitally savvy and quickly find your way around new systems and work tools.
- We are a bilingual company. Knowledge of the other official language is therefore a plus.

Annual working time (42 hours/week), possibility to work part-time as well as remotely, paid breaks
