Portrait of the School/Institution
Welcome to Aarwangen! The Aarwangen school is located in Oberaargau in the agglomeration of Langenthal. We see ourselves as an inclusive school. Around 520 children are taught in 27 mixed-age classes, of which five are kindergarten classes.
Our school is led by a supportive school management team. The collaboration among teachers is highly valued by everyone. All classes are supported by IF, DaZ teachers and the school social work.
On the Sonnhalde school campus there are four school buildings, two kindergartens, the day school, sports facilities, the swimming pool with a teaching pool, and the auditorium. Three more kindergartens are distributed throughout the village.

Tasks
You teach on the Sonnhalde campus and take on the role of IF teacher for integrative support in four 5th/6th grade classes (16 lessons). Additionally, you design 3 to 12 eU lessons (extended support) with a focus on cycle 1.
In our lean, multiprofessional class teams, you work closely with the class teachers, plan individual support, and implement it as needed in the class setting, small groups, or individually.
In cycle 1, there are also exciting opportunities to co-design your own cross-class support projects – your experience and creativity are needed here.
The timetable is created by mutual agreement. Wednesday and Friday afternoons are free from teaching.
Requirements
- You are a trained teacher and hold a master's degree in school special education or are on the way to obtaining one.
- It is a matter close to your heart to accompany, support, and strengthen children with special educational needs.
- You bring solid knowledge in diagnostics, support planning, and assessment and communicate confidently with teachers, school management, and specialist offices such as educational counseling.
- You are a reflective, team-oriented personality who combines professionalism and heart.
We Offer
- A unique workload at a great school location with few levels – ideal for those who value continuity and like to take responsibility.

- Regular professional exchange (special teacher conferences & subject groups)
- Opportunity for internal supervision from summer 2026
- Well-equipped IF support rooms (learning studios) in every school building
- Professional support from a comprehensive SpU team (DaZ, speech therapy, psychomotor skills, gifted support, school social work)

- Flexible start date: 01.02.2026, 01.08.2026 or by arrangement
- Adjustable workload and timetable by agreement
- Very good transport connections (public transport and highway)
