Technical Clerk Natural Hazards
Office for Forest and Natural Hazards | 80-100 % | Zuoz
The Office for Forest and Natural Hazards (AWN) is the cantonal specialist office for the forest and protection against natural hazards. The employees of the AWN advocate for the needs of society regarding the forest and ensure that the forest is managed sustainably.
You ensure that the Grisons forest
- can protect people, animals and infrastructure,
- is a habitat for diverse animal and plant species,
- is a raw material supplier of wood, water and energy,
- can continue to be a recreational and leisure area for people.
We are looking for a technical clerk natural hazards to support the regional natural hazards specialist (80-100%) starting 1 August 2026 or by arrangement.
Your area of responsibility
- Support of the natural hazards specialist in the South Grisons region from planning/conception regarding hazard assessment, risk analyses, statements on building applications and review procedures to the implementation of expert reports and projects for hazard zones or emergency planning in terms of prevention and precaution
- Independent processing of selected, object-/project-specific assignments and hazard assessments in the natural hazard processes avalanche, fall, landslide or water
- Preparation and participation in inspections of the hazard commission, recording of results for the hazard commission and development of plans for the hazard commission
- Support of the natural hazards specialists and regional forest engineers in managing natural hazard events
- Support of the regional forest engineers in recording and controlling events in the event register
- Support of the specialist for protective structures in the operation of the cantonal protective structures register
What we expect from you
- A higher education (ETH, university, university of applied sciences or college) or equivalent training corresponding to the job profile.
- In-depth knowledge in the field of natural hazards, especially process knowledge as well as ArcGIS Pro
- Committed, team-oriented and reliable personality
- General working language is German, good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
