Your Tasks
Main assignment: As a police security assistant (SiAss), you work unarmed during day and evening shifts (Mon - Sat). Your special area is stationary traffic. As a SiAss, you patrol the streets of the Canton of Basel-Stadt close to the citizens.
Main tasks: Controlling traffic, regulating traffic, issuing traffic fines, completing assignments, preparing reports and statements, enforcing cantonal laws, as well as blocking and securing vehicles are part of your duties.
Other tasks: You also support the police team at major events and special operations, work preventively through presence and approachability in the neighbourhood, and take on administrative tasks as well as counter service.
Your Profile
Experience: You are younger than 56.99 years (at the start of training) and hold a Swiss passport or a C residence permit and have an impeccable reputation. You are proficient with PC and smartphone.
Personality: You are a stable personality with a sense of proportionality. You demonstrate exemplary behaviour as well as physical and mental resilience. Social competence, team spirit and communication skills complete your profile.
Education: You have completed a vocational training EFZ/EBA or a higher school leaving certificate (Matura, FMS, HMS). You can ride a bicycle and hold a category B driving licence. Additionally, you can swim 400m continuously (at the start of training).
Language: German is your mother tongue or you are able to speak and write it fluently.

After a one-month introduction (with a workload of 100%), the six-month training can be continued with a workload of at least 60%. The training concludes with a nationally recognised certificate from the Swiss Police Institute. The training location is Basel. During the entire training, you are employed with full salary.
