The General Secretariat is the central staff unit of the Department of Finance. It is responsible for central planning, coordination, and project work in the area of financial management and financial policy as well as for the area of procurement.

What to expect

• Professional leadership of the procurement law competence area
• Contact, advisory, and information center for legal questions regarding public procurement from state administration and municipalities
• Legal review, assessment, and support of procurement projects
• Conceptualization, organization, and implementation of training, conferences, and further education in procurement law
• Ensuring and maintaining documentation as well as information on the internet and intranet
• Support for clients in the area of the publication and information platform simap.ch
• Representation of the canton of St. Gallen in the specialist conference on public procurement

What distinguishes you

• Completed studies in law (lic. iur. or Master of Law)
• Willingness to continue education in the area of public procurement
• Solid knowledge in public procurement law and ideally several years of experience in state administration
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop practical solutions
• Communicative and didactic skills for designing training and further education
• Confident handling of digital platforms and statistical tools as well as interest in innovative solutions
• Independent and structured working style, combined with teamwork and assertiveness
