The Appenzell Ausserrhoden Hospital Network, with the Herisau Acute Hospital and the AR Psychiatric Centre in Herisau, ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.
We are looking for
In the acute somatic nursing area under the nursing management of Ms Dragica Novakovic, we are seeking a social worker from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement for a 50% workload.
Your tasks
- Differentiated advice and personal support for patients and their relatives
- Support in complex situations regarding social and professional integration
- Advice on and organisation of inpatient follow-up solutions
- Electronic data processing in the area of responsibility
- Good networking with other institutions
Your profile
- You have a completed degree (BSc/MSc) in Social Work or are a qualified nurse HF with a CAS in Case Management and bring experience in case or discharge management as well as in the Swiss hospital and insurance sector
- You wish to work 50% and are willing to cover holiday replacements at 80-100%
- You have very good German language skills, both spoken and written
- In addition, you are a committed personality with pronounced social and communicative competence, possess initiative and organisational skills as well as personal stability and resilience
- Independent working style, assertiveness and enjoyment of interprofessional work are natural to you
