At Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, our financial operations grow thanks to the commitment of colleagues who embody our values of respect, belonging, integrity, autonomy, and excellence. Equipped with managerial skills and solid accounting knowledge, the Finance Manager supports the Chief Financial Officer and the Finance department team. He manages the team and daily tasks, as well as monthly and annual account closings.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently providing a professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Supporting the Chief Financial Officer in his duties
- Supervising the daily activities of the accounting department
- Preparing and posting closing entries within deadlines
- Ensuring that financial books are properly maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Preparing account reconciliations and analyzing balance sheets and income statements
- Supervising the Accounts Payable process
- Ensuring invoices are correctly recorded and payments are made on time
- Ensuring the production of daily data for analysis by departments
- Ensuring compliance with all established service standards
- Training department staff
- Balancing operational, administrative, and colleague needs
- Participating in the recruitment and training process of new colleagues or supervisors
- Participating in the preparation of financial, internal, external, and tax audits
- Ensuring proper, accurate, and adequate recording of revenues and expenses
- May be called upon to replace the Chief Financial Officer in his absence in missions with the General Manager
- Complying with ergonomic work standards in health & safety rules
- Complying with department policies and procedures
- Complying with all safety policies
- Other tasks as assigned
- 3 years of supervisory experience in mandatory accounting practices and principles
- A university degree in a related discipline is preferred
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows applications and other appropriate software required
- Fluency in French
- Fluent English
- Audit control skills
- Rigor is essential
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Particularly responsible and reliable, with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to focus on guests' needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspect of the Position:
The Finance Manager is mainly seated at his desk. He is required to move around the hotel to manage files with departments and perform inventory checks.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
To work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
