About the job
As a platform developer, you install hardware and software, expand device configurations, and train users. Security and protection of information are becoming increasingly important.
You plan, implement, and administer ICT networks (LAN, WLAN) and provide workstations by installing hardware and software. You operate internet servers and monitor them to ensure users can work without interruption. You are also responsible for backups and ensure that no data is lost. You make sure that information is protected and can be securely distributed.
The apprenticeship as an IT specialist in platform development lasts four years. In addition to working in the company, you attend vocational school two days a week during the four-year training. There is also the possibility to combine vocational school with a technical or commercial vocational baccalaureate. This allows you to enter university of applied sciences without an entrance exam.
