Social Pedagogical Reference Person
(80 %), Altendorf SZ
Caritas Switzerland operates four external living groups for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers on behalf of the Canton of Schwyz. The houses accommodate 10-20 adolescents or young adults. We are looking for a social pedagogical caregiver for the external living group in Altendorf. As such, you will take responsibility for the house and be the point of contact for the young people in everyday matters.
You enjoy working autonomously, are self-initiated, and love the variety of working in a dynamic environment.
Your tasks
- Establishing a binding framework for communal living and implementing the house rules
- Promoting independence in practical life topics such as cleaning, hygiene, cooking, budgeting
- Supporting the fulfillment of school obligations and official appointments
- Homework assistance
- Assisted basic cleaning and possibly minor maintenance and repair work
- Interventions in crises and conflict resolution
- Regular house meetings with the young people
- Interdisciplinary collaboration (including maintenance, health, guardianship, schools)
- Administrative tasks (social assistance payments, monthly and quarterly accounting)
Our requirements
- Completed recognized training in the social sector
- At least 4 years of professional experience, preferably in the youth sector in an intercultural environment
- Good German language skills, knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage - intercultural competence
- Willingness to work variable hours
- High sense of responsibility and quality awareness
- Independence and assertiveness
- High resilience and stress tolerance
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Driver's license category B desirable
- Transcultural competencies and intercultural skills
