Associate Psychologist at the Liaison Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit

The University Service of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (SUPEA) of the Department of Psychiatry at CHUV is seeking an associate psychologist (or one nearing completion of postgraduate training) at a 20% workload to strengthen the team of the Liaison Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit. The starting date is planned for 1 August 2026 or to be agreed.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.

The Liaison Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit at CHUV cares for children, women, mothers, and their families under the Department Woman–Mother–Child (DFME).

Its mission is to provide psychological care to children hospitalised in paediatrics and paediatric surgery services, also supporting their families, in close collaboration with the medical and nursing teams of these services. It has developed specific hospital-ambulatory care models with various specialised consultations in paediatrics and paediatric surgery (paediatric oncology, functional disorders, metabolic diseases, perinatal medicine, medical genetics, for example).

This new position will complement the multidisciplinary team in the Central sector (Lausanne) and offer psychological and psychotherapeutic care in the endocrinology, diabetology, and paediatric obesity unit for children, adolescents, and their families suffering from obesity.

Mission

• You provide clinical activity with children/adolescents and their families suffering from obesity
• You conduct psychological assessments in the context of paediatric obesity to appropriately guide multidisciplinary care
• You participate in liaison on-call duties
• You supervise the trainee assistant psychologist
• You perform administrative tasks arising from clinical activity.

Profile

• You hold a Master’s degree in psychology and a federal specialist title as a psychologist in psychotherapy (OFSP); applications from psychologists nearing completion of postgraduate training are also welcome
• You have a cantonal practice licence
• You have experience in caring for children and adolescents and possess good knowledge of their development
• You have good interpersonal skills and excellent ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
• You have good knowledge in the field of childhood and adolescent obesity
• You have good knowledge of network work
• You are interested in sharing your knowledge through continuing education courses and supervision.

Depending on the candidate’s profile, the salary scale is between levels 11 and 12.
