Position: Partner – Notary & Corporate Law
Location: Zurich
Workload: 100% full-time
Objective
As a senior notary, you lead and manage complex notarial mandates for a respected national and international clientele. Your dual qualification as a licensed Swiss notary and qualified corporate lawyer enables you to advise seamlessly on transactions requiring both notarial form and substantive legal structuring. You work closely with our M&A, Corporate Finance and Tax Law practice groups and ensure the full legal integrity of high-profile transactions, corporate law matters and private agreements.
Responsibilities
Notarial Services
- Certification and notarisation of legal documents, deeds, contracts and declarations in your capacity as a licensed Swiss notary
- Preparation and notarisation of public deeds for real estate transfers, company formations, capital increases, amendments to articles of association and shareholder agreements
- Handling notarial acts related to succession, including wills, inheritance contracts, advance directives and marriage contracts
- Advising on and executing notarial aspects of M&A transactions, including share transfer deeds requiring public deed form
- Handling registrations and coordination with commercial registers, land registries and authorities
- Ensuring full compliance with cantonal notarial regulations, professional confidentiality and anti-money laundering requirements
Corporate Law
- Advising on company formations, restructurings, mergers, demergers and corporate governance issues
- Drafting and reviewing shareholder agreements, voting agreements and articles of association
- Supporting M&A and private equity transactions from the perspective of corporate structuring and contract drafting
- Advising on capital measures, including capital increases, capital reductions and convertible securities
- Supporting cross-border corporate structures in close coordination with colleagues from tax law and M&A
Client Relations & Business Development
- Maintaining and expanding long-term client relationships through proactive, high-quality service
- Identifying cross-selling opportunities across the firm’s various practice areas
- Contributing to thought leadership through articles, webinars and representation at industry events
- Mentoring junior lawyers and interns to promote professional development and knowledge exchange
- Active use of AI-supported legal tools and participation in the firm’s ongoing innovation agenda
Performance Indicators
- Acquisition of mandates in notarial and corporate law areas
- Contribution to cross-selling between the firm’s practice groups
- Targets for billable hours
- Client satisfaction and retention
- Marketing activities: newsletters, events, publications and digital content
Requirements
Education
- Swiss bar admission – mandatory
- Notarial licence in at least one Swiss canton – mandatory
- Excellent academic achievements; additional qualifications in corporate or tax law are a great advantage
Professional Experience
- 7 to 15 years of relevant professional experience after qualification in a notary office, law firm or corporate legal department
- Proven track record of independently handling complex notarial mandates and corporate transactions
- Experience in M&A, private equity or family office is a significant advantage
Languages
- German – stylistically confident, legally precise written and oral expression (mandatory)
- English – stylistically confident, professional and fluent (mandatory)
- French, Italian or other languages are advantageous
