Fire Chief (80-100%) - Start: June 1, 2026 or by agreement

You don't see red right away in an emergency service organization and want to actively shape the future of the fire department in the city of Lucerne.

• You are responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the fire department in the city of Lucerne and the management of the municipal fire service department.
• You ensure the constant readiness of the professional and volunteer fire service.
• As Fire Chief, you are on duty for events of all kinds.
• You represent the fire department in public, with partner organizations, and in associations.
• You collaborate in commissions and working groups of the city, canton, authorities, and organizations on safety-related issues.
• As a member of the management team of the Department of Social Affairs and Security, you advise and support the department head in the further development of safety-related topics.
• Together with your team, you continuously develop the fire department and ensure attractive conditions for fire service.

• You have complemented your Master's level education with a management training.
• You bring extensive leadership and project management experience.
• As a fire officer, you have several years of experience in leadership and staff work.
• You communicate clearly and convincingly, know how to motivate people, and maintain a cooperative, empathetic leadership style.
• In collaboration, you are solution-oriented, constructive, loyal, and you have a pronounced understanding of political processes.
• With your analytical, strategic, and networked thinking ability, you set clear priorities and act based on sound business principles.
• You strongly identify with the city and the region of Lucerne.
