About the job
The Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the Schaffhausen Hospitals is expanding its psychiatric care services in collaboration with the Canton of Schaffhausen and is establishing a consultation psychiatric service for institutions with psychiatric support needs. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed consultant psychiatrist or senior consultant psychiatrist in psychiatry and psychotherapy with a workload of 60-100%, starting 1 January 2027 or by arrangement, who enjoys a varied, independent, and networked role.
The Breitenau Psychiatry Centre, alongside the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service and the Cantonal Hospital, is one of several locations of the Schaffhausen Hospitals. The Breitenau Psychiatry Centre in the Breite district of Schaffhausen consists of the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy with its inpatient, day clinic, and outpatient treatment services as well as long-term psychiatry.
What to Expect
- Consultation psychiatric care and advice for institutions in the Canton of Schaffhausen
- Psychiatric assessments as well as diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations for complex issues
- Support for facilities for people with disabilities, residential homes, social psychiatric institutions, and other institutions with psychiatric care needs
- Participation in crisis interventions and interprofessional case discussions
- Advice and support for care teams as well as collaboration with general practitioners, specialist doctors, and other network partners
- Promotion of needs-based, local psychiatric care in the Canton of Schaffhausen
- Contribution to the further development of the consultation psychiatric service
What You Bring to Us
- Specialist qualification in psychiatry and psychotherapy (FMH or recognised equivalent qualification)
- Alternatively, advanced training suitable for employment as a senior consultant psychiatrist
- Several years of clinical experience in adult psychiatry; experience in consultation psychiatry is an advantage
- Enjoyment of independent work as well as interprofessional collaboration
- High social competence, strong communication skills, and solution-oriented working style
- Interest in innovative care models and networked collaboration
- Category B driving licence is an advantage
